Biotechnology industry is the key economic driver for Taiwan with market value of 900 bn TWD

Singapore: BioTaiwan 2014 the major venue for promoting regional strengths and opportunities in biotech, is all set to be held in Taipei, from July 23-27, hosted by the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization (TBIO). The event aims to emphasize Taiwan's linkage and importance in the global biopharma industry chain.

BioTaiwan organizing committee chairman, Dr Johnsee Lee, noted that the biotechnology industry was a major economic driver in Taiwan and the industry market value has reached 900 bn TWD. He anticipates that the trillion TWD mark would be soon realistic as Taiwan integrates itself into the global pharmaceutical chain. He further added that, the Taiwan government's encouragement and support was remarkable in the tremendous growth of the biotech industry.

BioTaiwan 2014 is anticipated to gather large crowds with over 1200 booths from 700 domestic and foreign companies. Japan, China, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and many other international delegations are expected to participate and seek investment and collaborative opportunities in Taiwan.

The event aims at fostering the development of biotechnology in Taiwan by providing advocacy, business development and communication services.
