Singapore: Professional services organization EY announced Dr. Michael Tan, Group CEO and Co-Founder of Fullerton Healthcare Group Pte Ltd, as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) 2015 Singapore at the 14th EY EOY awards gala held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore this evening. Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Secretary-General, National Trades Union Congress and Minister, Prime Minister's office, officiated at the gala as guest-of-honor.

Dr. Tan will be Singapore's representative at the prestigious EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) to be held in Monte Carlo, Monaco in June 2016. He will compete with more than 60 other country winners for the coveted world title. The EY WEOY competition is the hallmark of the awards program, offering a platform to profile local entrepreneurs among the world's most successful business leaders.

Mr. Ho Meng Kit, Chairman of the judging panel, also CEO of Singapore Business Federation, comments: "Michael is a true example of an entrepreneurial leader. From his decision to leave his chief executive role in an established private hospital, to setting up Fullerton Healthcare and subsequently overcoming a management buy-out, Michael demonstrated the classic traits of risk-taking, determination and an opportunistic and innovative mindset. Under his leadership, Fullerton Healthcare is now a significant player in the health care sector, operating in five countries across Asia-Pacific and transforming the patient experience in these markets".

An independent judging panel had assessed the nominees based on their merits in fulfilling the six global judging criteria, namely entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, global/community impact, innovation and personal integrity/influence. The award recipients were selected from close to 40 nominations.
